BIBLE STUDY - THE MARRIAGE FEAST OF THE LAMB

Jesus has already mentioned a feast in Heaven in Matthew 26:26, “But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom”. It was here that Jesus served communion the last time on earth to His disciples. We remember the purpose of communion is; we commemorate the death of Jesus and look to his return.

Something about the prophetical book revelation:

a. Revelation 1 to 3 is aimed at the church here on earth.

b. Revelation 4 to 19 is what is to happen on earth after the rapture. Chapter 4:1 starts with the rapture of the Church.

c. Revelation 19 to 22 mainly what would happen after these things and finally at the end time.

Revelation 19:7-9, ‘Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

The purpose of the marriage feast of the Lamb is for Jesus to have victory that He achieved and to invite the believers to be guest at the marriage ceremony of Jesus Christ and His bride. Who is or will be the Lamb of Christ? Read Revelation 19:7-9 again.

We have two meals mention in Scripture here; “marriage feast of the Lamb”, Revelation 19:1-10 and “the feast of God”, Revelation 19:12-21. We must be prepared to that the last meal will be a bloody one, were vultures of the heavens are invited to come and eat; And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; ……That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
