BIBLE STUDY - LIFE AFTER DEATH.

When someone close to us die, we will always have the shock of this person’s death, the pain and realization that we will never be able to converse with this person again, on this side of the grave. Then, there is the loneliness, missing the person. It is human for us to weep at a loved one’s death. Jesus, also wept at a person’s physical death, read John 11:33 - 35. However, physical death is just a door that we will go through, or a bridge that we might have to cross. "Whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die",  John 11:26.

When someone died in the Old Testament, the body went into the grave or "Queber" Hebrew, "Mnaymion" Greek. The righteous person’s spirit went to Paradise. The wicked person’s spirit went to Hell or "Sheol"  Hebrew, "Hades"  Greek. When some one dies in the New Testament or now, the body goes into the grave. The spirit of the person that has accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour will go to Heaven to be with the Lord, Acts 7:55 - 60; 2 Corinthians 5:1 - 10; Philippians 1:23 etc. The person who dies without accepting Jesus Christ as their Saviour will end up in the lake of fire - Revelation 20:15.

1.1 Luke 16:19 - 31, this is not a parable, Jesus Said "There was". Jesus said to the penitent thief on His one side on the cross, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise", Luke 2343. If Luke 16:19 was just a parable then 70 other scripture verses in the New Testament would have no sense.

1.2 All the righteous people of the Old Testament, who died, went into this place in the earth to rest - 'soul sleep', Job 3:11 - 13, and were held there captive by the devil against their will,  Hebrews 2:14,15; Ephesians 4:7 - 11. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, the Bible teaches He went to the underworld to preach and He set free the captive, 1 Peter 3:18 - 22; 1 Peter 4:6. Jesus Christ conquered death, Hell and the grave during His crucifixion and during the three days He was in the underworld. Those are the people that rose from the dead and their graves in Matthew 27:50 - 53.

1.3 The devil had the power of death and of the underworld before Christ conquered him, Colossians 2:14 - 17; Hebrews 2:14, 15; Revelation 1:18. Jesus Christ has paid the price and now He holds the keys of death and Hell in His hand, read Revelation 1:18b. Paradise has been transferred to heaven, Revelation 2:7 and 2 Corinthians 12:2 - 4.

 2. HELL or "Sheol" = Hebrew, "Hades" = Greek.

2.1 This is a place in the underworld where the unrighteous and the lost are kept. Jesus preached more about Hell than any other person ever. In the Old Testament with the dispensation of 'conscience', before the flood the unrighteous souls went to "Sheol". In the Old Testament with the dispensation of 'law', after the flood up to the birth of Jesus Christ, the unrighteous souls went to "Sheol". If any person dies and is lost, according to the New Testament under the dispensation of "grace", this is now, in the days that we are living in, the lost souls - those that have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour will also go to "Sheol or Hades".

2.2 The Greek word "Hades" means - 'the unseen world'. The wicked will not live in Hell forever, like many preachers teach. At the end of the Millennium the wicked will be liberated out of Hell and will be given their immortal bodies and then be judged by God before being cast into the lake of fire - forever, please read Revelation 20:11 - 15 and Revelation 21:8.

2.3 The wicked people are in a conscious state of torment in Hell as can be seen from following Scriptures; Luke 16:19 - 31; Matthew 5:29; Matthew 18:9; Matthew 25:30; Mark 9:43 - 49 etc.

3.1 This is a place in the earth where the fallen angels who sinned against God are kept at this moment, Genesis 6:1 - 8; 1 Peter 3:9; 2 Peter 2:4, and Jude 6,7 etc. Paul said in Corinthians 6:3 "Do you not know that we shall judge angels".

4.1 This place is the abode or prison of demons and certain disobedient angelic beings. No human beings ever go to Abyss. The Greek word for Abyss is "Abussos" and means, a pit with no bottom or immeasurable depth. This place according to the Scriptures is in the lower parts of the earth. We find the word "Abbussos" mentioned in the following Scriptures in the Greek Manuscripts; Luke 8:26 - 31; Romans 10:7; Revelation 9:1 - 3, 11; Revelation 11:7; Revelation 17:8; Revelation 20:1 - 10. etc.

5. THE LAKE OF FIRE or "Gehenna".

5.1 This is the eternal and final Hell, this department is also called the second death, this is where God the Father is going to keep all wicked demons, angels and human beings, forever. There is no Scripture or record of any one being in this place at this moment. The beast and the false prophet will be the first to be cast into it, before the Millennium - Revelation 19:20. Then after the Millennium and "Behma", the White Throne Judgement, Satan and all other wicked beings will be cast into the lake of fire and left there forever……….. Revelation 20:10 - 15. The Millennium is the thousand years that Jesus Christ will rein with the believers over the disobedient people, those that did not accept Jesus Christ on earth. Read Revelation 20:1 - 10; Jude 1:14,15 and Isaiah 11:1 - 16. Read my Bible study on 'The Millennium'.

God never intended man’s disobedience, He gave us our own choice, man failed. The Bible teaches that God the Father planned to be with man forever. If only Adam and Eve would have made the right choice. Thank God for Jesus..

The answer to this is definitely YES.

Looking at Lazarus and the rich man in Luke 16:22,23 they recognized each other.

Moses appeared with Elijah on the mount with Jesus, Peter James and John recognized Moses, Mark 9:4 etc.

1 Corinthians 15:35 - 49

But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

2 Corinthians 5:1, ‘For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.’

The answer to this is YES.

Jesus had a tangible body after he rose from the death: Luke 24:39, Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have”.

The bible is clear that all angels are adults. We do not read of small childlike angels in the Bible. There are no Scriptures teaching that babies will be adults in heaven. However the soul of man is linked to the emotion of the physical body and accordingly balanced to knowledge and experience. Meaning that a baby is thinking and acting like a baby whereas an adult person think and react matured. The spirit of man is from God and there is no baby or adult spirit.

Looking at 1 Corinthians 15:49, And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly’. The word image here refers to the body of mankind - ‘eikon’ as statue or profile.

Conclusion: I believe dying a baby on earth wil be a matured in heaven with NO limitations or handicaps.
