BIBLE STUDY - GOD AND MAN.

While this is obviously a complex and contentious topic and not everyone agrees, the majority of people feel that religion is important. For those who do feel that religion is important, their religion may, after all, be directly or indirectly related to the ultimate truth, life, death, life after death. Also how we should live, the concept of right and wrong, morals, ethics, guidance, rituals and culture. One must agree, these are all, important issues.

If we do feel that religion is an important aspect, it is important that we take the time, spend time and make the effort and work hard to fully understand, accept and communicate with our God.

1.   WHO IS GOD?

The word God has a meaning, it means - 'deity' or 'divinity' and is also used of false gods. Many people make our 'God' a mystery and hard to understand because of ignorance and lack of Scriptural knowledge. We must understand that our 'God' is the Spirit of the living Father, John 4:24. So the Father is our 'God'. He is the Father and 'God' of Jesus Christ. John 20:17, “My Father and your Father, My God and your God”. We read in Ephesians 1:17, "That the 'God' of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him".

We are spirit, soul and body.    I am a spirit,  I have a soul  and  I live in a body.

1 Thessalonians 5:23; Luke 8:55; Acts 7:59, etc.

Attached 14 data sheets giving a good example of record that can be kept in the admin system.

2.1    I AM A SPIRIT: ( Greek - "Pneuma" )

The spirit of man is his person, Chris, John, Susan etc. the seat of his intellect, will, mind, conscience that makes him a free moral agent and a rational being or person. The spirit of man has God - consciousness. The spirit of man comes from God - Ecclesiastes 12:7, and will live forever, with God or separated from God in Hell, forever, read John 11:36. The spirit of man lives in his earthly body and is restricted not to leave the body while the body is alive. Read, 2 Corinthians 5:1 - 10; James 2:26; Luke 8:55; Acts 7:59.

2.2    I HAVE A SOUL: ( Greek - "Psyche" )

The soul of man is the physical life in his earthly body, the seat of his affections, emotions, appetites, desires and all his physical feelings. Genesis 2:7. The soul of man has self - consciousness. The soul of man comes from God and will be no more once the body dies, because of man’s sinful nature inherited from Adam and Eve.

2.3    I LIVE IN A BODY: ( Greek - "Soma" )

The body of man is his earthly abode or house that his spirit and soul lives in. The spirit and soul designs and the body only executes those desires. The body of man has world - consciousness. The body of man is from the dust of the earth by God and will die because of man’s disobedience. The body of man will return to the dust of the earth. Genesis 2:7 and Genesis 3:19.

We have, God the Father -  in Heaven,  God the Son -  in Heaven   and   God the Holy Spirit - Omni present, 1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19, etc. Did you know that there are 30 Scripture verses in the Bible to proof God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit; example, Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:3; 1 John 5:7. God is the Father, God is the Son, GOD IS THE HOLY SPIRIT. The Father is God, the Son is God, THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD.

God the Father has His own Body, Soul and Spirit. See my Bible study on 'God the Father'. The Spirit of the Father is the Holy Spirit, John 15:26; Genesis 1:2. God the Father was before time ever started, and He will be forever. God the Father is at this moment seated in heaven on His Throne, Mark 16:19; Hebrews 1:3; 1 Peter 3:22; Romans 8:34; Ephesians 1:20; Colossians 3:1; Acts 7:56; Revelation 20:11. When the Bible normally refers to 'God' in the New Testament it refers to 'God the Father'. Read Luke 8:1; John 14:1. Jesus said, “Believe in God believe also in Me - in my Father’s house are many mansions”. John 20:17 “My Father and your Father, My God and your God”. Jesus, while on earth referred to His Father in heaven in more than 40 Scripture verses in the New Testament. When we think of God the Father we must not think that He is invisible but we must think merely of distance. Jesus said in John 16:8 - 10b, "I go to My Father and you see Me no more". The Spirit of the Father is not restricted like man’s to a body only, the Holy Spirit is every where, all over - omni present.

3.2    GOD THE SON:

God the Son was with God the Father before this world ever was, John 17:5; John 17:24 and Genesis 1:26 etc. God the Son does not know everything that God the Father knows, read Mark 13:32. The Bible teaches that the Spirit of God the Father is in God the Son. Jesus emptied Himself of His own Spirit so that God the Father's Spirit , the Holy Spirit made His abode in Jesus Christ. John 17:21; “That they all may be one, as You Father, are in Me, and I in You” This does not mean that Jesus has not His own Spirit, see Romans 8:9; Galatians 4:6; Luke 23:46. He submitted His own Spirit to God the Father and so they became one in unity. John 17:11 - 23, verse 11 “That they may be one as We are”. Verse 21 “That they all may be one, as You, Father are in Me and I in You” verse 22, "that they may be one just as We are one”, verse 23 “I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfect in one”. God the Son is at this moment, seated on the right hand of God the Father in Heaven to intercede for all those who accepted Him as their Saviour, Romans 8:34; 1 Peter 3:22. Read my Bible study on ‘Heaven’. God the Father and God the Son are represented here on earth by the Father’s Holy Spirit, John 14:16 - 23. After the resurrection of Jesus, He had a tangible body, Luke 24:36 - 43.

The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is God the Father’s Spirit, Exodus 31:3. “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth”, John 4:24. The Holy Spirit is representing the Father Himself and Jesus Christ here on earth. The Holy Spirit conceived Jesus in the womb of Mary, by this, Jesus is the Son of God, Matthew 1:18. The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead as in Romans 8:8 - 16. The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father, read John 15:26; Matthew 10:20 and John 16:7 - 14. We can only think of the mega duties the Holy Spirit perform, see my Bible study on 'The Holy Spirit'. We must realize that God the Father is with us again because of what Jesus did. Jesus will introduce us to God the Father at the 'Marriage Feast'.
