BIBLE STUDY - BIBLE PROPHESIES TO BE FULFILLED.
1. THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH:
purpose of this writing is to look at the many New Testament prophecies awaiting
fulfilment from the rapture of the Church unto the New Jerusalem from heaven.
The first of these is presently being fulfilled, and will continue so until
Christ comes again to take the Church at the rapture to Heaven with Him, 1
Timothy 4:1; ‘Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some
shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of
devils. This prophecy predicts that some Christians will depart from the
faith in the last days. Throughout Scripture the Holy Spirit repeatedly warns of
believers departing from the faith, Hebrews
3:12; Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of
unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while
it is called today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of
sin. This prophecy is also
presently being fulfilled, and will continue to be until the rapture, after
which it will be completely fulfilled when Christ presents the Church to
Himself, blameless and without spot or blemish, 1
Thessalonians 5:23; ‘And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray
God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ’. 2 Peter 3:9-10; ‘The Lord is not slack concerning
his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance’.
‘But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.’ Matthew 24:44;
The rapture of the Church is not the second coming of Jesus Christ. The rapture of the Church will be a surprise to many people. Only the true believers will partake or see the rapture. With the second coming of Jesus Christ every eye will see Him. The word rapture refer to the word; ‘to take away quickly’. The rapture of all true believers will happen instantly, quickly, in a twinkling of an eye. "Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed'', 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52 and Philippians 3:20, 21.
''But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will arise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord", 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. The above Scripture clearly states that all of the involved people will meet the Lord in the air or clouds.
In the Bible the rapture of the Church is always referred to as the 'coming of the Lord' or the days of the Son of Man or the revelation of the Son of Man but never the 'second coming of Christ'. The rapture of the Church is purely a New Testament doctrine and was first revealed to Paul, as a special revelation, while the 'second coming of Christ' with the saints, to come and live on earth, is not only a New Testament doctrine, but is one of the chief themes of the Old Testament. The Old Testament prophets never saw the New Testament Church, much less the rapture of the Church.
1.1 THE TIME OF THE RAPTURE:
The rapture of the Church can take place any moment. Only God the Father knows when this event will take place. Not even Jesus Christ knows about this time. ''But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father'', Mark 13:32, The time of the rapture is God the Father's decision. We have an idea of when the second coming of Jesus Christ will take place. The rapture of the Church will take place approximately seven years before the second coming.
1.2 THE PURPOSE OF THE RAPTURE:
The rapture of the Church is for Christ to come for the saints before the great tribulation, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. The rapture must first take place and Christ must come for His saints before He can come back with His saints. The second coming of Christ is to come with the saints after the great tribulation to live and reign on the earth for a thousand years, Jude 1:14b and Revelation 20:6. We also understand that Christ has to resurrect the dead 'in Him' from among the wicked dead in their graves to receive their rewards with those who are alive and all will be changed from mortality to immortality, 1 Corinthians 15:51 etc. and 2 Corinthians 5:1-10.
1.3 PARTAKERS OF THE RAPTURE:
The rapture will be for those who are living in Christ. ''And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming'', 1 John 2:28. ''Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven'', Matthew 7:21. ''But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man'', Luke 21:34-36. Jesus said these words after He told them about the great tribulation. Note that He tells us to watch that we may be worthy to escape these things that will happen.
a. The rapture of the Church will have a devastating effect on the world. Just think of what will happen in this world if all the true believers are raptured all of a sudden. We read in the Book of Revelation 4:1 about the rapture of the Church. Revelation chapter 1 to chapter 3 is about the Church here on earth. Revelation chapter 4 start of with the rapture of the Church, then up to chapter 19 is what is going to happen here on earth. Chapter 19 is about the marriage feast of the Lamb and up to chapter 22 is about God's final dealings and the New Heaven. Read my Bible study on 'the Book Revelation
b. Matthew chapter 25 is not referring to the rapture of the Church. However, Matthew chapter 24 is referring to the rapture of the Church and the Jews who will go through the great tribulation because they did not accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah. Remember the Book of Matthew was written mainly to the Jews. Read my Bible study on the great tribulation.
c. Then He said to the disciples, Luke 17:22-37, ''The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it, verse 26-36, ''And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: they ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise to the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left". Luke 17:37, And they answered and said to Him ''Where, Lord?'' So He said to them, ''Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathering together''. This is a prophecy on the battle of Armageddon. Read my Bible study on the 'Battle of Armageddon'.
d. After that the rapture has taken place the true believers will receive their rewards in heaven and will then have a part in the supper of the Lamb. This time will last approximately 7 years. During this time the great tribulation will take place on the earth. Then the second coming of the Lord with all his saints will take place and the battle of Armageddon will take place on earth. Satan and all his followers will be bound for a thousand years and during this time there will be peace on earth. After the thousand years Satan will be released and then God will defeat Satan and his followers with Gog and Magog and throw Satan and every person who's name is not written in the Lamb's Book of life in the lake of fire for ever. We read of the marriage feast of the Lamb that will take place then. After this the existing world will be destroyed by fire and a new heaven and a new earth will come down from heaven and all the true believers and saints will live there forever as God had planned in the beginning. Read Bible studies on these subjects.
2. JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST:
is the most important Bible study that you will ever do in your life. 2
Corinthians 5:10, ‘For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ;
that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he
hath done, whether it be good or bad’. Paul wrote these words to all
believers. See also Romans 14:12, ‘So then every one of us shall give account
of himself to God’.
AND EVERY BELIEVER WILL STAND IN FRONT OF JESUS CHRIST ONE DAY TO GIVE ACCOUNT
FOR EVERYTHING THEY HAVE DONE IN THEIR LIFE ON EARTRH, WHETHER GOOD OR BAD.
do hope you understand that. Some people believe that the wrong things
Christians have done here on earth will be washed away and never mentioned
again. This is not what the above mentioned verse reads, it reads “whether
good or bad”.
is one of the most misunderstood verses in the Bible. People do not want to
accept it. Read the following verses confirming the same; 1
Corinthians 3:11-13, ‘For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid,
which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver,
precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest:
for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire
shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which
he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be
burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
See also; Revelation
22:12, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every
man according as his work shall be”. See also; Matthews
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter
into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from me, ye that work iniquity”.
read in 1 Corinthians 11:31,32; ‘For if we would judge ourselves, we should
not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we
should not be condemned with the world’.
we understand that if we do sin, or do the something wrong while here on earth
we are chastised by the Lord, this is what these verses confirm. See also;
Revelation 3:19, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous
therefore, and repent”. Hebrews 12:5b-8, “My son, despise not thou the
chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the
Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye
endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom
the father chasteneth not?” See also, Proverbs 3:11,12 “My son, despise not
the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the
LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth”.
is a fast difference between; ‘The judgment seat of Christ’ and ‘The White
Throne Judgement’. ‘The
judgement seat of Christ is for all the believers,
2 Corinthians 5:10. The ‘White Throne Judgement’ is for all the unbelievers,
Revelation 20:11. The judgement seat of Christ is shortly after the rapture and
the White Throne Judgement, is just before the final end, just before a new
heaven and a new earth will descend from heaven
we see that the judgment seat of Christ is shortly after the rapture and one of
the first things to happen in heaven. No Christian will be punish or rebuked
here, we will only have to give account for what we did as Christians on earth.
Everything we have done or though will be revealed here and we will have to
explain why we did this or that.
will be given to worthy Christians, crowns etc. This will happen just before the
marriage feast of the Lamb. When the faithful Christians sit down at the
marriage feast of the Lamb, there will be crowns given as rewards. Why crowns?
Because Jesus said we will rule as ‘Kings’ and ‘Priests’ with Him in the
millennium reign on earth.
the meantime, shortly after the ‘rapture of the Church’ the ‘great
tribulation’ will start on earth. How do we know as Christians that we will
not be on earth when the great tribulation will start? Jesus Himself explained
in Luke 21 all about the great tribulation. In verse 36 He said, “watch
therefore that you may escape all these thing.”
THE GREAT TRIBULATION:
are some Christians that do believe they will also have to go through the great
tribulation. May God bless their souls this is not what the Bible teaches. There
are no Scriptures to proof this statement. There is Scriptural proof however,
that Christians will have a choice. Jesus was talking about the last days of
Jerusalem, the great tribulation and the Jews, He referred to the importance of
‘watching’ in the book of Luke 21:36, “Watch therefore, and pray always
that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to
pass, and to stand before the Son of Man”.
great tribulation is mainly God the Father’s dealings with the Jewish nation.
The Bible also referred to the tribulation of the Jews at the end time as;
‘Daniel’s Seventieth Week’ and ‘the time of Jacob’s trouble’. We do
not have a Scripture verse that read the great tribulation will last for seven
years. However if we look at the prophesies in the book of Daniel 9:24-27 and in
Revelation 11:2, 3 we will see that the duration of the tribulation will be 7
years. The time mentioned in Revelation 11:2, 3 are mentioned in months and even
in days. The Bible teaches us that the tribulation will start shortly after the
‘Rapture of the Church’. See my Bible study on ‘The rapture of the
must mention the fact that the Antichrist will be revealed shortly after the
rapture of the Church has taken place. Israel will be undergoing persecution by
the whore and the ten kings of the Roman Empire who are dominated by the whore
until the middle of the Week. Antichrist will come out of one of the ten
kingdoms and he will make a seven years covenant with Israel assuring them of
protection as a nation, Daniel 9:27. Antichrist will need Jewish moral and
financial support to be able to be established.
purpose for the great tribulation:
1. To cause Israel to flee into the wilderness of Edom and Moab and to be so persecuted by the nations that they will have to turn to God for help, Isaiah 16:1-5; Ezekiel 20:33-35; Daniel 11:40; 12:7; Hosea 2:14-17; Matthew
24:15-31; Revelation 12.
To purify Israel off all rebels, Ezekiel 20:33, 34; 22:17-22; Zechariah 13:8, 9;
Malachi 3:3, 4.
To judge Israel and punish them for their rejection of the Messiah and make them
accept Him when He is going to come back to earth the second time, Ezekiel
20:33, 34; Zechariah 12:10-13:9; 14:1-15; Matthew 24:15-31.
4. To purify Israel and bring the Jews back to the place where God can fulfill the everlasting covenants made with the Jewish fore - fathers, Isaiah 2:6; 3:26; 16:1-5; 24:1-25; 26:20, 21; Ezekiel 20:33, 34; 22:17-22;
To bring Israel into the bond of the new covenant, Ezekiel 20:33, 34; 36:24-28;
Jeremiah 30:3-11; Zechariah 12:10-13:9; Malachi 4:3, 4.
To bring Israel to complete repentance, Zechariah 12:10 to 13:9; Romans
11:26-29; Matthew 23:39.
To judge the nations for their persecution of Israel, Isaiah 63:15; Joel 3;
two, time - divisions of the great tribulation.
great tribulation is divided in - to, two; 3½ years plus 3½ years.
first division takes place in the first 3½ years of the 7 years and will be a
standard tribulation for the Jewish nation because of protection from the
Antichrist. This division of the tribulation takes in the fulfillment of
Revelation 6:1 ; 9:21. The judgments of the sixth seal and first trumpets comes
in this period, thus providing tribulation during this time.
second division takes place in the second 3½ years of the 7 years and can be
referred to as the ‘Great Tribulation’ for the Jewish nation. Antichrist,
who will protect Israel the first three and a half years, will break his
covenant with the Jews and become their most bitter enemy. Antichrist will then
try and destroy all the Jews, which calls for the judgments of the seven vials
of the last three and a half years. This part of the tribulation includes the
fulfillment of Revelation 10:1-19:21.
is the time where Jesus said in Matthew 24:15-31 and Mark 13:14-23, “Therefore
when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
standing in the holy place, then let those who are in Judea flee to the
mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of
his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But
woe to those who are pregnant and those with nursing babies in those days! And
pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there
will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world
until this time, no, not ever shall be”.
the tribulation be world - wide?
Bible is clear that the Antichrist will not reign over the whole world, but only
over the ten kingdoms or countries formed inside the Roman Empire. Most of the
judgments of the trumpets and vials are stated as being only upon a third or
fourth part of the earth, Revelation 8:7-12 and upon the men which had the mark
of the beast and upon the seat or throne of the beast and his kingdom,
Revelation 9:16-2, 10, 12. The sixth trumpet kills only a third part of men,
THE MARRIAGE FEAST OF THE LAMB:
has already mentioned a feast in Heaven in Matthew 26:26, “But I say unto you,
I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I
drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom”. It was here that Jesus served
communion the last time on earth to His disciples. We remember the purpose of
communion is; we commemorate the death of Jesus and look to his return.
about the prophetical book revelation:
Revelation 1 to 3 is aimed at the church here on earth.
Revelation 4 to 19 is what is to happen on earth after the rapture. Chapter 4:1
starts with the rapture of the Church.
Revelation 19 to 22 mainly what would happen after these things and finally at
the end time.
19:7-9, ‘Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage
of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was
granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine
linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are
they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto
me, These are the true sayings of God.
purpose of the marriage feast of the Lamb is for Jesus to have victory that He
achieved and to invite the believers to be guest at the marriage ceremony of
Jesus Christ and His bride. Who is or will be the Lamb of Christ? Read
Revelation 19:7-9 again.
We have two meals mention in Scripture here; “marriage feast of the Lamb”, Revelation 19:1-10 and “the feast of God”, Revelation 19:12-21. We must be prepared to that the last meal will be a bloody one, were vultures of the heavens are invited to come and eat; And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; ……That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON:
read about the battle of Armageddon in Revelation 16:15,16, "Behold I am
coming as a thief", verse 16, "And they gathered them together
to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon".
Reading these verses will show us that Jesus warned about His second coming.
"Behold I come like a thief in the night". Matthew 24:44,
"Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when
you do not expect Him". Matthew was written to the Jews.
these and other Scripture verses we see when, why, buy whom, how long and the
results of the battle of Armageddon will take place.
will be after the marriage supper of the Lamb. Matthew 26:29. It will be at the
time when Jerusalem is surrounded by armies of the nations and half of the
city is taken,
Zechariah 14:1 - 15. The book was written 550
will be just before the Millennium start, Revelation 20:1-6.
will be before Satan will be bound for a thousand years, (for the full period of
the Millennium), Revelation 19:11-21.
purpose of the battle of Armageddon is for God to deliver Israel from total
destruction by the
Antichrist and the many nations under
him, Zechariah 14 and Isaiah 63:1 - 10. It will be to punish nations
for persecution of the Jews.
purpose and victory of the battle of Armageddon will be to set up a kingdom on
the earth with Jesus Christ as it’s head. Daniel 7:13, 14 and Luke 1:31-33.
purpose and victory will be to establish and restore God’s dominion on earth
eternal and perfect state, as
it was before the fall of man, 2 Peter 3:10 - 13 and Revelation
21:1 - 8.
will be a battle between the armies of Heaven with Jesus Christ as the leader
beast and the false prophet with all their followers.
will flow up to the horse’s bridals, Revelation 14:14-20, Ezekiel 39:17-24.
battle will only last one day according to Zechariah 14:1 - 14, "But it
day, that shall
known to the Lord" etc.
will be total defeat of the armies of Satan and all his followers. The armies
will make carcases for the fowls of heaven to eat for as long as seven
39:4-24; Revelation 19:17-21; Matthew 24:28; Luke
will be delivered and God’s eternal Kingdom will be set up on earth, Matthew
2:44; 7:18; Revelation 21:1-8.
beast and false prophet will be cast into the lake of fire, Revelation 19:20.
devil and his angels will be cast into the bottomless pit for a thousand years,
THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST:
first coming of Jesus to the earth is the time He was born of the Virgin Mary.
The second time He will return and put His feet on this earth is what we want to
refer and discuss here. The second coming of Jesus to earth can never be seen as
the 'rapture of the Church'. The rapture is when Jesus will come 'for His
saints', and the saints will go and meet Him in the clouds or air. The second
coming is when Jesus will come 'with His saints' to live on the earth for a
thousand years. This time Jesus will put His feet back on the mount Olivet from
where He ascended after His resurrection. The second coming of Jesus Christ will
happen approximately 7 years after the rapture of the Church.
1:9-12, ‘Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken
up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. - "Men of Galilee, why do
you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into
heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven". - Then
they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near
Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey’.
There is a very interesting prophecy
in the Book Zechariah 14:1-4 about the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ,
"Behold the day of the Lord is coming - and in that day His feet will stand
on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of
Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley;
half of the mountain shall move towards the north and half of it towards the
south". Do yourself a favor and do some inquires on the effect the
earthquakes have in Israel.
OF THE SECOND COMING:

Father with His angels, and then He
will reward each according to his
Jesus said in Matthew 25:31, "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and

are living in the last days. The Bible teach us that in the last days there will
be people that will mock and say, "Where is the promise of His
coming", 2 Peter 3:3-13.
that the rapture has taken place the true believers will receive their rewards
in heaven and will then have a part in the supper of the Lamb. This time will
last approximately 7 years. During this time the great tribulation will take
place on the earth.
the second coming of the Lord with all his saints will take place. Satan and all
his followers will be bound for a thousand years and during this time there will
be peace on earth. After the thousand years Satan will be released and then God
will defeat Satan and his followers with Gog and Magog and throw Satan and every
person who's name is not written in the Lamb's Book of life in the lake of fire
for ever. After this the existing
world will be destroyed by fire and a new heaven and a new earth will come down
from heaven and all the true believers and saints will live there forever as God
had planned in the beginning. Read Bible studies on these subjects.
read in Revelation 20:1-10, “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven,
having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold
of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him
for a thousand years”. Verse 6, “Blessed and holy is he who has part in the
first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be
priests of God and of Christ and shall reign with Him a thousand years”.
word ‘millennium’ means a thousand years. The word ‘mille’ - thousand
and ‘annum’ - year.
We refer to the Millennium as the ‘Millennial Reign’ of Jesus Christ and the
saints on this earth. The Millennium will begin with the binding of Satan at the
return of Jesus Christ to this earth to re - establish the throne of David and
to set up God’s kingdom on earth, Matthew 24:29-31; Revelation 19:11 ; 20:7
and after ‘the battle of Armageddon’ has taken place.
see the Millennium as; the dispensation
of divine government. This is also seen as the 7th thousand year
of our Lord. From Adam and Eve to the flood - two thousand years before the
flood, two thousand years after the flood till Jesus Christ and the Cross. From
Jesus and the Cross till now, two thousand years. 2000 + 2000 + 2000 = 6000
years. Now the 7th thousand year is starting. Does that mean anything
created all the things in six days and on the seventh day He ended His work and
He rested on the seventh day, Genesis 2:2.
We are already entering the seventh thousand years - the Sabbath
Time of our God and Creator. This will be the last age on earth before the
eternal perfect state and age when God will be al - in - all again, as in 1
Corinthians 15: 28. Satan must be bound before the Millennium can begin,
Revelation 20:2,3. Satan will have no influence on the world during the
Millennium, Revelation 20:3.
Bible also refers to the Millennium as;
‘The dispensation of the fullness of time’, Ephesians 1:10.
‘The day of the Lord’, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8; 2 Peter 3:13.
‘The age/world to come’,
Matthew 12:32; Mark 10:30; Luke 20:35; Ephesians 1:21.

restitution/restoration of all things’, Acts 3:19-21.
‘The consolation of Israel’,
‘The redemption of Jerusalem’,
take not that this thousand year will be the first time that Jesus will reign on
earth. This is the time that God will gather and rule all things in Christ, both
in heaven and on earth, 1 Corinthians 15:24-28; Ephesians 1:10; Revelation 22:
4,5. Jesus Christ will rule the world from Jerusalem according to the Prophets
in the Old Testament, 1 Chronicles 23:25; 2 Chronicles 33:4-7; Psalms 72:8;
Isaiah 2:2-4; Jeremiah 17: 25; Daniel 7:13,14; Joel 3:17; Micah 4:7. The Bible
teaches that all the righteous dead will be resurrected before the Millennium to
have part in the reign, Revelation 20:4-15.
New Testament prophecy awaiting fulfilment in the Millennium is that which
predicts the restitution of all things, Acts 3:21. The
restitution of all things; means that in the millennial reign of Christ
all things in God’s original purpose for His creation will be completely
restored to what God intended them to be before Adam fell. The earth will be
delivered from the curse under which it now exists because of Adam’s sin. It
will be restored to God’s original plan. There will be no more famines;
fruitful seasons will be without interruptions. There will be no more sorrow or
mourning, neither tears. No one will ever die again. There will be no more
crying or pain, nor will anyone hunger again. Neither will sun nor heat ever
affect anyone again, Revelation 7:16-17; 21:3-5. There will be no more sin and
sickness in the earth, Isaiah 33:20-24. The natural people living on earth will
be healed by the Tree of Life, Revelation 22:2. There will be no more poverty;
material blessings will fill the earth; every one will prosper, Isaiah 60:5-17;
62:8-9; 65:21-23; Micah 4:4; Zechariah 3:10. World wide peace will prevail in
the earth, Isaiah 2:1-4; 9:6-7; 11:10; 19:23; 26:12; 32:18; 54:14; 57:19; 60:18;
66:12; Micah 4:1-3; Zechariah 14:9-11. Formerly wild animals will be tame;
children will play with once highly venomous snakes, Isaiah 11:6-9; Ezekiel
34:25, 28. Animals will no longer attack and kill human beings, nor each other,
Isaiah 65:25. There
is much more to be said about the Millennium.
THE EARTH DESTROYED BY FIRE AND NEW JERUSALEM:
will examine prophecies awaiting fulfilment after the Millennium. The first of
these is John’s prophecy foretelling Satan being loosed after being bound in
chains in the bottomless pit during the thousand years of the Millennium, and
his final rebellion, defeat, and doom, Revelation 20:7-10. The next prophecy in
this section which will be examined here predicts the second resurrection; the
resurrection of the wicked dead, Revelation 20:4-6. Verse 5 here, teaches that
the wicked dead will be resurrected after the thousand years reign of Christ.
They will be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire at the Great White Throne
Judgement, Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8. The Lake of Fire will be the final
destination of the wicked, a place of eternal torment for everyone whose name is
not found written in the Book of Life, Revelation
20:15, ‘And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into
the lake of fire. Revelation
21:7-8, But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part
in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Great White Throne Judgement is prophesied right throughout the New Testament,
Matthew 7:21-23; Acts 17:31; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Hebrews 10:26-29; Revelation
20:11-15. In the fulfilment of the Great White Throne Judgement prophecy,
prophecies predicting that there will be degrees of punishment for the wicked,
will also be fulfilled, Matthew 16:27; Luke 20:46-47; Hebrews 10:29; James 3:1;
Revelation 2:18-23. Just as there will be degrees of rewards in Heaven for the
saints, 1 Corinthians 3:13-15, so there will be degrees of punishment in the
Lake of Fire for the wicked. Together with the fulfilment of the Great White
Throne Judgement prophecy, the prophecy predicting the renovation of Heaven and
earth will also be fulfilled, 2
Peter 3:7, ‘But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are
kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of
ungodly men. 2
Peter 3:10, ‘But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the
which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be
burned up. In the context of 2 Peter 3:7, 10-13, it means that Heaven and
earth will be loosed from their present corrupt state into a new state purified
by fire and made new as to character.
prophecy awaiting fulfilment after the Millennium is that which predicts that at
the end of Christ’s millennial reign, when all the enemies of God have been
defeated, even death, and cast into the lake of Fire at the Great White Throne
Judgement, Christ will hand the Kingdom over to God, 1 Corinthians 15:28.
Together Christ and God will reign over the Kingdom in the New Earth for all
eternity, Revelation 21:1-3; 22:3-5. Another prophecy, which predicts the saints
being made eternal kings and priests, will also be fulfilled at this time,
Revelation 1:6; 2:26-27; 3:21; 5:10; 20:4-6; 22:5.
this last section of the study we will examine prophecies awaiting fulfilment
after the Great White Throne Judgement, in the New Earth. The first of these
will be the prophecy which predicts New Jerusalem as both God and Christ’s
seat of government in the New Earth, Revelation
21:1-3, ‘And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the
first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea…’ New
Jerusalem will be the home of all the saints of God, Old Testament and New
Testament alike, from Abel to the very last soul saved in the Tribulation
period, Revelation 21:24-27 with John 14:1-3; Hebrews 11:1-2, 13-16; 12:22-23;
Revelation 3:12. It should be noted here that New Jerusalem is a literal city,
twelve thousand furlongs, fifteen hundred miles, long, wide, and high, with a
wall measuring a hundred and forty four cubits, over two hundred feet, or sixty
five metres, high, surrounding it. The city is made of pure gold, which is
transparent like clear glass, and the street of the city is the same. The city
has twelve gates, each one a pearl. There will be no temple as an object of
worship in the city, God and Jesus will be the objects of worship. The city will
have no need of the sun and moon. It will be illuminated by the radiating glory
of God and Jesus will be its light. This will also fulfil Revelation 22:5. The
city gates of New Jerusalem will never be shut, because it will always be
perfectly secure; there will never be any darkness there. It will be the capital
of God in the New Earth throughout eternity, and the eternal home of all the
saints of God, from Abel to the very last soul saved in the Tribulation. They
will all live in New Jerusalem forever, Revelation 21:9-27. Revelation 22:4 will
also be fulfilled at this time, His Name will be on our foreheads.
Tree of Life is also literal. It will bear twelve kinds of fruit, a different
fruit for each month of the year and will be such a continuos bearer, the fruit
will never be all used up. The fruit will be for both the redeemed of God who
will live in New Jerusalem, and the natural people who will live in the New
Earth, Revelation 2:7; 22:2, 14. The leaves of the tree will be for the
preservation of life of the natural people. It should be noted here that the New
Earth will be inhabited throughout eternity by natural people, which will also
fulfil that part of John’s prophecy in Revelation 22:2 where he refers to them
as the nations. Another New
Testament prophecy awaiting fulfilment in the New Earth is by Paul, who predicts
that the church will continue eternally along with eternal generations of
natural people throughout the ages to come, Ephesians 3:21. The church will be
an eternal witness in the New Earth to God’s unmatched grace, Romans 11:36.
